2025 CIRS Group Seminar-Global Chemical Regulations and Sustainability Workshop

Joonas Alaranta, Team Leader, Hazard Assessment Directorate, European Chemicals Agency (ECHA)

Joonas Alaranta works as the Team Leader of Dossier Evaluation Decision-making team in the Hazard Assessment Directorate of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA). The work of his team focuses on the evaluation decision-making under the EU REACH Regulation. Mr. Alaranta is also researcher and part time teacher at the University of Eastern Finland Law School specializing in chemicals law and regulation of circular economy.

Yangjung Kim, Director, Korea Chemical Management Association (KCMA)

Yangjung KIM is a regulatory expert with over 15 years of experience in the field of chemical safety management. She has played a leading role at the Korea Chemicals Management Association (KCMA), focusing on the successful implementation of ARECS and the Chemicals Control Act (CCA), while actively supporting the industry's compliance.

Building on her extensive experience bridging policy and on-site operations, she currently serves as a member of the Seoul Metropolitan Government’s Environmental Health Committee and the Environmental Dispute Mediation and Damage Relief Committee. Additionally, she actively contributes as a technical advisor and private expert for regional environmental offices and local governments

YongKyoon Doo, Director, Korea Institute of Chemicals Classification and Labelling

YongKyoon Doo was in charge of the Chemical Substance Registration Assessment Team at the National Institute of Chemical Safety (NICS) in Korea, assessing K-REACH registration applications. He has over 30 years of experience in chemical regulatory affairs in Korea. He also holds a master's degree in chemistry and environmental science. He founded the Korea Institute of Chemicals Classification and Labelling to promote the efficient management of chemical substances and provides optimized consulting services by leveraging a global network of chemical substance information.

Kyonga Park, General Manager, CIRS Japan

Kyonga Park has worked at Japanese chemical consulting companies, global chemical manufacturers, and global product regulation consulting companies, we have carried out chemical substance registration, exposure and risk assessment, SDS and label authoring based on chemical substance regulations in various countries, such as Japan CSCL, Korea REACH, China REACH, Europe REACH, and the US TSCA, as well as research into global import, sales, packaging, disposal, and recycling regulations for a wide range of products, including chemicals, pigments, detergents, cosmetics, semiconductor equipment, printing equipment, automobiles, batteries, and lubricants.

She also has extensive experience in regulatory compliance and consulting across the entire product lifecycle, including conducting educational seminars on global product regulations and product compliance checks.

Eric Xiong, General Manager, Industrial Chemicals Sector, CIRS China

Eric has 14 years’ experience in product stewardship and regulatory compliance for the chemical industry in China, the EU, and other Asian Pacific countries. His team has provided solutions for hundreds of enterprises to achieve chemical regulatory compliance and helped clients place thousands of chemicals onto the market in China, EU, and other Asia Pacific countries without barriers.

Queenier Yang, Technical Director, CIRS China

Queenier has more than 15 years’ experience in global chemical regulations including EU REACH, K-REACH, KKDIK, UK-REACH, US TSCA and Canada DSL/NDSL. Her expert use of QSAR and read-across instead of testing, successfully gains compliance with REACH-LIKE regulations. Her team has completed thousands of notifications/registrations covering China REACH and overseas chemical regulations.

Daqi Wang, Deputy General Manager, Sustainability Sector, CIRS China

Mr. Wang works as the Deputy General Manager of the Sustainability Sector at CIRS Group. He is familiar with global climate policies, greenhouse gas accounting standards and green regulations and has extensive experience in carbon emission accounting, LCA analysis, ESG ratings, sustainable supply chain management,etc. He holds a Master's Degree in Greenhouse Gas Management and Accounting from Colorado State University.

SeoWon Kim, Team Leader, CIRS Group Korea

SeoWon Kim is a qualified regulatory affairs specialist with more than 10 years of international experience in chemicals and food regulatory compliance. She has deep research into chemical regulations in the EU and the Asia Pacific regions with experience in the international market. She has provided regulatory consulting services on Foods and feeds, K-BPR, Global GHS, Fertilizer, Cosmetic and risk/intake/migration assessment in the areas of industrial chemicals drawing on her diverse scientific background.

Minji Kang, Team Leader, CIRS Group Korea

Minji Kang is an expert regulatory consultant with more than 10 years of experience in chemical compliance. She has a master’s degree in environmental and safety engineering and has researched risk assessment. She has provided regulatory consulting services on K-REACH, K-CCA, China REACH, EU REACH, KKDIK, and risk assessment in the areas of industrial chemicals drawing on her diverse scientific background.

Saebom Park, Senior Consultant, CIRS Group Korea
