As of mid-June 2026, ten new cosmetic ingredients have completed filing (notification) in June, bringing the cumulative total for the year to over 100. The pace of filing continues to accelerate. CIRS Group has compiled and interpreted the relevant information to help the industry stay abreast of the latest developments in new cosmetic ingredients.

According to China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) cosmetic new ingredient filing information, ten new cosmetic ingredients completed filing between June 1 and 12, 2026. Details are shown in the table below. Currently, the relevant technical requirements have not yet been disclosed, and these ingredients have not yet entered the monitoring period. As of now, a total of 103 new cosmetic ingredients have been filed in 2026.

Interpretation of Key Ingredient Information

Rosa chinensis (Chinese rose) is an evergreen or semi-evergreen low shrub of the genus Rosa in the family Rosaceae. The medicinal value of Rosa chinensis was first recorded in the Compendium of Materia Medica (Bencao Gangmu) by Li Shizhen, who considered it effective for "promoting blood circulation, reducing swelling, and drawing out toxins." Rosa chinensis can be used to extract fragrance, and its roots, leaves, and flowers are all used medicinally. In traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), Rosa chinensis is sweet in taste and warm in nature; it enters the Liver meridian and has the effects of promoting blood circulation, regulating menstruation, reducing swelling, and detoxifying. Because of its marked effects in removing blood stasis, promoting qi circulation, and relieving pain, it is commonly used to treat conditions such as menstrual irregularity and dysmenorrhea.

Fagopyrum tataricum (tartary buckwheat) is an annual herbaceous plant mainly distributed in mountainous and plateau regions of Asia, Europe, and the Americas. Research shows that tartary buckwheat is rich in rutin and other polyphenolic compounds, and exhibits antioxidant, antitumor, antihypertensive, hypoglycemic, and lipid-lowering activities, making it an important crop with significant medicinal and nutritional value.

Penthorum chinense is a perennial herb of the genus Penthorum in the family Saxifragaceae (Penthoraceae under the modern APG classification), mainly distributed in Northeast, North, South, and Southwest China. It has the effects of promoting urination to remove dampness and removing blood stasis to relieve pain, and is used for jaundice, edema, traumatic injuries, swelling, and pain.

Dendrobium devonianum is an epiphytic herbaceous plant of the genus Dendrobium in the family Orchidaceae. In China, it is distributed in Guangxi, Yunnan, Guizhou, and southeastern Tibet, and is also found in Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, and other countries. It is listed as a Class II National Key Protected Wild Plant in China and classified as Endangered (EN) on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. According to the Catalogue of Yunnan Chinese Medicinal Resources and the Records of Yunnan Materia Medica, Dendrobium devonianum has medicinal value. In TCM, it is believed to have the effects of clearing heat and nourishing yin, and promoting fluid production to benefit the stomach; it is mainly used to treat conditions such as febrile disease consuming body fluids, post-illness deficiency heat, dry mouth with excessive thirst, and yin deficiency causing dim vision, making it an important medicinal plant resource in China.
