Full Enforcement of Indonesia’s New Rules on Cosmetic Labeling, Promotion, and Advertising Begins November 2025

In November 2024, the Indonesian Food and Drug Authority (BPOM) introduced new provisions under Regulation No. 18/2024, governing the labeling, promotion, and advertising of all cosmetic products in Indonesia. The regulation came into effect on November 15, 2024. A 12-month transitional period has been granted to holders of cosmetic distribution licenses that were obtained prior to the effective date, requiring full compliance with the new requirements by November 15, 2025. Relevant companies are advised to pay close attention to the transition timeline and ensure product compliance with the new regulation.

EU Cosmetic Regulation Update: Enhanced Labeling from 24 to 80 Allergens

The EU has introduced a crucial amendment to its Cosmetic Regulation that focuses on the labeling of fragrance allergens in cosmetic products. Key Points of Cosmetic Labeling in China

On May 31, 2021, NMPA issued the notice on Measures for Administration of Cosmetics Labeling (No.77, 2021), encouraging cosmetics registrants and filers to label cosmetics in accordance with the provisions of the Measures from the date of this announcement. From May 1, 2022, cosmetics applying for registration or filing must meet the provisions and requirements of the Measures; Where cosmetics that have previously applied for registration or been filed fail to be labeled and marked in accordance with the Measures, the cosmetics registrants and filers must complete the updates to product labels before May 1, 2023 to make them conform to the provisions and requirements of the Measures.
