China Simplifies Interim Testing Registration Requirements for Agricultural GMOs

China’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs recently updated its documentation requirements for the interim testing registration of agricultural Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) to streamline the application process. Compared to previous rules, the revised requirements cut out background information and project discussions, so applicants can focus strictly on technical and safety evaluation data.

The core materials now center on the modification process, characteristic characterization, and the specific interim testing plan, retaining only key performance indicators and experimental frameworks.
