On February 5, 2026, China’s NHC issued the No.1 Announcement of 2026. 3’-SL was approved as a new food nutrition enhancer, becoming the third officially authorized human milk oligosaccharide (HMOs) following 2’-FL and LNnT.
Earlier in September 2025, Shandong Runhan Biotechnology Co., Ltd. (“Runhan”) achieved a milestone in its international compliance journey for its core product, GlcNac. With comprehensive professional support from CIRS Group and its U.S. subsidiary, the company’s GlcNac has been concluded by GRAS Panel as Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS).
Recently, VDK’s synthetically produced β-carotene, manufactured using synthetic biology technology, obtained self-GRAS notification. This milestone signifies the product’s approval as a safe food ingredient for sale and use in the American market, providing crucial support for VDK’s global expansion strategy. On September 12, 2025, the National Health Commission (NHC) of China updated the List of New Food Ingredients Terminated from Review, adding two entries of D-allulose. Among them, the D-allulose application submitted by Shandong Fuyang Biotechnology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Shandong Fuyang”), represented by CIRS Group, was included.
Recently, CIRS Group successfully assisted Penglai Marine in obtaining Self-GRAS Notice for its anhydrous magnesium citrate. Recently, Guilin Layn Natural Ingredients Corp. (hereinafter referred to as "Layn"), with the support of CIRS, received a "no questions" letter from the FDA for its enzymatically converted rebaudioside M2 (hereinafter referred to as RebM2). This indicates that RebM2 has been successfully notified under the FDA GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe) notification program. The official FDA GRAS notification, unlike a self-affirmed GRAS, carries greater authority and market recognition.
On January 7, 2025, China's National Health Commission updated the termination review list for new food ingredients. The PQQ disodium salt, produced by fermentation using the Hyphomicrobium denitrificans MQ004-2 strain by Hubei Magic Health Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Maiggic”), was included in the list. The review concluded that it is substantially equivalent to the PQQ disodium salt announced in the 2023 No. 8 notice. Except for the production process, other requirements align with those of the already announced PQQ disodium salt.

On December 13, 2024, the National Health Commission of the People’s Republic pf China(NHC) published announcement No. 6 of 2014 on its official website. The PHA material (Poly-3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyhexanoate, PHBH) produced by Bluepha has successfully passed the China Food Contact Materials Certification.
